KTP Associate (AI-Driven Design & Business Intelligence Engineer)

JOB PURPOSE: To realise significant capacity for growth through the integration of AI technology by utilising NLP and LLM to create and embed an AI-Driven Design and Business Intelligence System.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Project manage the delivery of the Knowledge Transfer Partnership work plan.
2. Undertake team formation and familiarisation to understand key knowledge, technology and project requirements.
3. Gather and understand TaperedPlus’s requirements and undertake a technology needs analysis.
4. Identify and select the AI-Driven Tools and techniques required to design the TaperedPlus AI design system. (TPID)
5. Development of TPID automation prototype framework of the TP technical drawing process.
6. Incorporate semantic understanding and Large Language Models (LLM)-assisted drawing to enable AI models and techniques to be integrated in the TaperedPlus’s software
7. Utilise AI’s impact on business model innovation and identify AI methods for automating business processes and supporting decision-making.
8. Assess and validate the TPID prototype and support the launch and implementation of the TPID system
9. Deliver the required training to TaperedPlus staff to enable embedding of the KTP outputs.
10. Supporting TaperedPlus’s Senior teams to exploit the services developed within the project.
11. Co-author and present academic papers to relevant journals/conferences.
12. Contribute to KTP evaluation and final reports.

This position is initially for a 30-month fixed term contract, employed by Teesside University but working day to day at TaperedPlus Ltd premises in Stockton on Tees.

Your role will be to work with the company and academic team to integrate AI technology, utilising NLP and LLM to develop and implement an AI-Driven Design and Business Intelligence System. This will enable the creation of an efficient design process and enhance business operations which will enable significant business growth.

To deliver this role we require the following essential skills & experience;

1. MSc in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a closely related field
2. Demonstrable technical expertise in technical expertise in Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques, Large Language Models (LLMs), and AI-driven system design.
3. Demonstrable skills or experience in Business Intelligence and data analytics to support predictive analytics and trend identification.
4. Experience in applying Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and NLP to real-world problems, particularly those involving unstructured data like text and images.
5. Experience in designing and implementing AI-driven systems, particularly those leveraging LLMs.
6. Experience of working on research or industrial projects, especially in computer science, AI, and or Generative AI-related projects
7. Ability to work both independently and within a team setting.
8. Excellent project and time management skills, ensuring that milestones and deliverables are achieved to time and to high quality.
9. Ability to communicate complex information clearly.
10. Highly motivated and willing to take personal responsibility for meeting objectives.
11. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to apply creative thinking to find effective solutions
12. Demonstrable understanding of the business perspective in technical projects and can use business acumen to understand commercial impact.
