Job description
• Project manage the delivery of the Knowledge Transfer Partnership work plan.
• Undertake team formation and familiarisation to understand key knowledge, technology and project
requirements.
• Modelling, Designing and Integrating the leaching technology for mineral carbonation of Dauson
construction waste filter cake.
• Optimise carbonation reactors to produce the carbonate minerals.
• Develop ultra-low carbon ready-mix and pre-cast concrete from Supplementary Cementitious
Materials as cement replacer.
• Enhance the efficiency and sustainability of Dauson’s new waste processing chain through
comprehensive digitalisation and optimisation.
• Supporting the team to facilitate scaling up process, while maintaining quality and cost
effectiveness.
• Support the Market launch of new product and service.
• Deliver the required training to Dauson’s staff to enable embedding of the KTP outputs.
• Supporting Dauson’s Senior teams to commercialise the services developed within the project.
• Co-author and present academic papers to relevant journals/conferences.
• Contribute to KTP evaluation and final reports.
Project description
Dauson Environmental Group Ltd has an ambitious environmental strategy which includes a commitment to diverting 100% of its demolition waste from landfill. Waste valorisation is critical to achieving this strategy through the repurposing of waste construction materials, specifically waste filter cake derived from soil washing, into ultra-low carbon concrete-based products and cement
replacers for the ready mix/precast markets.
This role will provide technical and commercial development opportunities to the KTP Associate; supported by the Teesside University academic team, you will lead on the development of this product range by utilising advanced carbon mineralisation techniques, non-thermal activation and LCA.
