KTP Associate – Applied Scientist

The main role of the KTP Associate is to lead on the development of a bespoke optimisation, planning, and risk analysis tool for staff deployment; balancing cost, staff well-being, geographic constraints, and job requirements to enhance efficiency and meet operational demands. The tool will be scalable, integrate predictive capabilities, and be deployed alongside change management principles to support the growing business’ needs.

The Associate’s main challenge related to the project lies in the development of a new optimisation tool using multi-parametric optimisation techniques. This will also necessitate the development of analysis of previous data in order to understand the key parameters that constrain the scheduling task. In addition, the Associate will need already have acquired an understanding of Change Management techniques or need to develop this through guidance from the supervisory team in order to apply them to an analysis of the integration of the developed tool into the business, as well as wider company issues related to growth.

Alongside the Applied Science element, the Associate will be expected to gain an in-depth knowledge of the inner workings of Test Inc.’s operations, as well as the people within the company that will use the new products

– We are looking for someone with expertise in Software Engineering, design and development of software systems, design and development skills, and experience of data science. Most importantly we are seeking someone who is an excellent communicator, with an inquisitive and proactive mindset, capable of innovative thinking, and leading projects from conception to deployment

This innovative KTP project aims to develop an innovative, AI-driven workforce scheduling tool to optimise staff deployment against client jobs taking into account a large number of complex factors. The vision is to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and support Test Inc’s growth into international markets. This work will support the automatic generation of scheduling reports and resulting in significant labour savings, and allow the company to explore strategic staff deployments.

In addition, this KTP will include a Change Management analysis focusing on identifying the potential/realised associated impact of the tool developed and its full integration into the company, as well as a wider analysis of the impact of growth.

The start date is flexible and will be agreed with the successful applicant.
