Job description
An exciting opportunity has become available to work on a 26-month Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) between the University of Exeter and ISS Aerospace. The KTP will develop a novel software framework to enable safe, autonomous collaboration between UAVs and ground systems for port operations.
The successful candidate will be employed by the University of Exeter and will spend the majority of their time working at ISS Aerospace’s premises in Chieveley, near Newbury (RG20 8RT).
Project description
This project aims to develop the Swarm Autonomy Flight Environment for Port Operation Support (SAFEPOS). This will be a safe, scalable and autonomous collaboration between aerial and ground systems in complex environments, addressing a critical barrier to widespread adoption of uncrewed technologies.
The KTP associate will develop and embed within ISS Aerospace:
- The knowledge of advanced simulation techniques, reinforcement learning and synthetic environment modelling to validate autonomous behaviours in complex, real-world scenarios.
- New knowledge in regulatory-compliant autonomy software development, including expertise in JARUS, SORA, ACAS and TMPR frameworks.
