Job description
This 30-month project will see you work with DSSL and a team of academics from Leeds Beckett Business School to develop an innovative Data Led Warehouse Efficiency Model, combining advanced analytics with cultural transformation.
This exciting role will see the successful candidate bring the following skills:
- Technical and Analytical Competency, to design bespoke analytical frameworks to optimise warehouse and operational efficiency. You will apply computer modelling techniques, adapted specifically for heavy steel and industrial operations and embed complex, data-driven solutions with intellectual rigour.
- Operational and Supply Chain expertise, to focus on operational optimisation, flow efficiency, and warehouse management. You will identify and implement structured, evidence-based supply chain process improvements.
- Change Management and Cultural sensitivity, to embed sustainable operational change within the business environment and organisational culture. This will need resilience in overcoming resistance to new ways of working while operating effectively within regular implementation and continuous improvement cycles.
- Project Management and Deliver y experience, to drive the 30-month KTP project to successful delivery against a challenging timeline, with the intellectual rigour to review progress, refine approaches, and respond constructively to emerging challenges, updating key stakeholders via exemplary communication
- Innovative and Problem-solving approach, demonstrating an open-minded approach with the ability to develop rigorous, logical, and persuasive reasoning. An ability to balance structured thinking with flexibility and responsiveness to change, and the confidence to present business-centric solutions to stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
Project description
We are seeking a highly motivated, tenacious individual to drive an innovative KTP project with Dent Steel Solutions Ltd (DSSL) – a forward-thinking steel stockholder serving major defence, marine and core construction global markets.
This 30-month project will see you work with DSSL and a team of academics from Leeds Beckett Business School to develop an innovative Data Led Warehouse Efficiency Model, combining advanced analytics with cultural transformation. You will facilitate DSSL to secure their future growth by addressing capacity and efficiency constraints, position them to be more responsive to market opportunity and proactively direct their business workflow. You will be based full-time at the company premises, where you will be welcomed as an integral part of the DSSL team, reporting to an engaged and forward-thinking leadership team.

DSSL is a leading UK independent large steel-plate stockholder serving major global markets. As a specialist supplier of very large, heavy steel plates of exacting quality, DSSL occupy a 5-acre site in Bradford, from where the successful KTP candidate will work.
