Job description

As the Digital Twin Integration Specialist based at Alleyn’s School, you will lead the design and technical development of an innovative Digital Twin Commercial Platform. This platform will transform how we understand, optimise, and enhance ‘All Spaces’ within the school and beyond – empowering every student and teacher to achieve more through the philosophy of marginal gains.

Your work will directly influence the way learning environments adapt and evolve, ensuring every classroom and communal area is harnessed to its full potential collaborating with students and academics.

You will work alongside leading academics from UCL’s Bartlett Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis, developing and applying research, whilst collaborating closely with the dynamic school team to embed knowledge. You’ll be at the heart of a project blending the latest research and academic prowess with real-world practice, fostering smarter, more connected, and inspiring educational spaces.

Project description

As the associate on this project, your goals will be to:

  • Drive and deliver the technical vision and development of the Digital Twin School Platform, aligning with Alleyn’s ‘All Spaces’ approach and Marginal Gains philosophy.
  • Collaborate with educators, students, and researchers to design and implement innovative solutions that enhance the learning environment.
  • Ensure the platform meets high standards of data security, accessibility, and user experience.
  • Present research and development progress at regular meetings and stakeholder events, communicating complex ideas clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Lead and support co-design activities, workshops, and creative sessions with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Document, organise, and report on project outcomes, providing valuable insights for the school and wider academic community.
  • Actively contribute to Alleyn’s ongoing Smart School strategy and future-focused initiatives.
  • Present research progression at project meetings.
  • Produce a final report that summarises and collects the activities undertaken during the contract.
  • To develop professional growth through dedicated personal development and leadership training.
  • Publish findings, attend international conferences, and represent Alleyn’s and UCL on a global stage.
  • Adhere to UCL and Alleyn’s policies, including Equal Opportunities, Data Protection, Safeguarding and Health & Safety regulations.
  • To carry out any other duties which are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job as requested by the line manager or Head of Department.

About the business

‘Co-Ed Independent School of the Year 2025’ is rooted in a rich heritage dating back to 1619 and renowned for its academic excellence, extensive co-curriculum, outstanding pastoral care, and inclusive ethos.

Alleyn’s is a vibrant, selective, independent day school with around 1,400 pupils aged 4 to 18; around 1,100 of those are in the senior school (11to18). Part of the Dulwich Foundation and set in the heart of Dulwich, close to the centre of London, Alleyn’s is one of the most sought after and successful coeducational schools in the country, delivering academic and co- curricular excellence in a welcoming and supportive atmosphere. Alleyn’s pupils achieve truly outstanding results at GCSE and A-Level, and their achievements stem from the way they are encouraged to focus on who they are, rather than what they do, and to celebrate each other and the community around them. Fun and joy are to found at every opportunity at Alleyn’s, where every student is encouraged to be “All We Can be”.
