Job description

Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Plan and run laboratory work across EthOss facilities (primary base) and University of Leeds instrumentation, ensuring data integrity and documentation.
  • Establish Biomaterials Characterisation workflows and create repeatable protocols for materials analysis.
  • Design and build the Bone Defect Testing Platform (BDTP) to simulate physiological environments for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery applications.
  • Develop biological and cellular assays to evidence osteoimmune performance.
  • Oversee procedural governance of the Product Validation Toolkit, embeding knowledge into the business via staff training, generation of how-to guides.
  • Translate technical expertise and integrate this into the business strategy.
  • Lead monthly project and quarterly governance meetings between EthOss, academic supervisors and UKRI management.
  • Interface with clinical stakeholders to translate clinical needs into testable specifications and feed insights into formulation and testing.
  • Contribute to publications, presentations, and marketing assets to support scientific credibility and commercial narratives.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety, ethical, and quality standards for materials and cell-based work; maintain records aligned to ISO compatible documentation.
