Job description
This KTP project will design, build and embed scalable digital infrastructure, data capture and analytics capability across the Snowdon Timber Products business. The postholder will lead the end-to-end delivery of the project, helping Snowdon Timber Products unify its data, improve commercial insight, increase operational efficiency, and embed a lasting culture of data-led decision-making.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the delivery of a complex digital and data transformation project.
- Designing and implementing scalable data architecture and analytics processes.
- Developing and testing analytics to improve product selection, pricing, promotions and stock management.
- Working closely with stakeholders across the business to understand data needs and translate them into practical solutions.
- Collaborating with Bangor University academics through structured supervision and mentoring.
- Building relationships with digital platform and technology providers.
- Supporting change management, training and knowledge transfer to embed capability within the organisation.
A typical week may include project leadership meetings, academic supervision sessions, hands-on analytics development, stakeholder engagement across operational teams, and training or capability-building activities.
Project description
This 28-month KTP project between Snowdon Timber Products and the Albert Gubay Business School will provide the expertise required to develop an in-house scalable data architecture to support bespoke data analytics processes within the organisation, as well as the support to drive the associated culture change to data-driven decision making. This will enable Snowdon Timber Products to exploit new digital trading platforms and become a market leader in e-timber trading within the UK.
