Job description
Through the Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Programme, Kiverco Ltd, in collaboration with Queen’s University Belfast, invites applications for an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and forward-thinking team. This role is ideal for a motivated graduate in Engineering, Science, or IT who is eager to apply their skills to real-world challenges and contribute to the company’s ambitious growth plans.
This innovative project focuses on leveraging advanced digital twin technology to transform the performance of bespoke recycling plants. By optimizing plant design and enhancing manufacturing efficiency, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving sustainable solutions and meeting customer demand for exceptional material purity.
Applicants will benefit from hands-on experience, professional mentorship, and collaboration with experts from Queen’s University Belfast. Employed and supported by the University, you will be based at Kiverco in Dungannon, Co. Tyrone.
As a KTP Associate, you will lead on the delivery of the following key project stages:
Stage 1: Project Exploration, Technology Review and Scoping
Stage 2: Software and Hardware Evaluation and Selection
Stage 3: Detailed Planning for Pilot Implementation and Testing
Stage 4: Full-scale Implementation
Stage 5: Post-Implementation Review and Optimisation.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
1. Hold or be about to obtain (by July 2025) a university degree (minimum 2.1 classification, with a 2.2 classification acceptable if
candidate holds an MEng degree or an alternative relevant postgraduate qualification) in an Engineering/Science/IT discipline
such as Mechanical/Manufacturing/Electrical/Electronics/Mechatronics Engineering, or Computer Science.
2. Strong analytical skills and significant experience in problem-solving, which may include academic projects, placements, or
previous employment.
3. Demonstrable knowledge of digital technologies and relevant experience of using digital tools such as, CAD software (e.g.,
SolidWorks), data analysis platforms, and/or AI systems.
4. Relevant experience of executing and managing engineering projects.
5. Experience in the specified areas above may be evidenced through:
o Completion of a module, academic research project, or student placement.*
o Practical work conducted during employment or internships.*

6. Ability to think logically, create solutions and make informed decisions.
7. A high level of numeracy and the ability to interpret data.
8. Good oral, written and presentation skills.

15. Ability to take part in Associate management courses (requiring two one-week periods in England).
16. Willing/able to travel throughout the UK and Ireland and abroad as necessary.
17. Ability to attend work place (Kiverco, Dungannon, Co. Tyrone). This is a rural location and public transport is scarce. Normal
working hours Monday-Friday, 8am to 5pm and at other work locations as required.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA:
1. Hold certifications or training related to advanced AI, machine learning, or Industry 4.0 technologies.
2. Hold or be about to obtain a postgraduate qualification (PGCert, MSc or PhD) in a related field, particularly in digital
manufacturing, AI, or data-driven technologies.
3. Chartered Engineer status or working towards professional engineering accreditation (e.g., IMechE, IEEE).
4. Demonstrable skills and understanding in one or more of the following areas: sensors and signal data processing; data
analytics and AI; digital product and process modelling via CAD/CAM.
5. Relevant experience in product design within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
6. Relevant work experience in control and monitoring with exposure to hardware and software integration.
7. Prior relevant experience in implementing or working with digital twin technologies or AI-driven systems.
8. Familiarity with advanced sensor systems (e.g., NIR spectroscopy, computer vision systems) or similar technologies.
9. Demonstrable track record of stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation.
10. Ability to deliver training and follow-up support to operatives.
11. Ability to influence people effectively.
12. Tenacious and committed to achieving goals.
Project description
To deliver a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) project for Kiverco Ltd in partnership with Queen’s University Belfast to utilise
innovative digital twin technology to enhance the quality and performance of our bespoke recycling plant, improve plant design
engineering and drive efficiency and productivity in manufacturing activities aligned with customer demand for sustainable plant and
high levels of purity in recovered material.
