Job description
Purpose
To create a Digital Mindfulness Toolkit that leverages AI and data infrastructure, guided by human-centred change, to enable responsible digital transformation through a strategic ‘Digital Gateway’ connecting people, systems, and insights.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Project manage the delivery of the Knowledge Transfer Partnership work plan (with extensive support from both the company and academic supervisors)
- Lead on the key stages of the KTP, including:
- Establish strategic alignment, governance structures, and foundational knowledge to support Gateway Qualifications’ human-centred digital transformation
- Build diagnostic and analytical capability for organisational digital readiness.
- Equip Gateway Qualifications with knowledge elicitation methods to foster organisational learning and inclusive Digital Transformation
- Designing and implementing a cloud-based AI/ML data foundation for an Intelligence Engine.
- Build AI models and simulations to support strategic and operational intelligence
- Development of an Intelligence Engine and visualisations to support decision making
- Embedding AI interventions into organisational routines and enabling Human–Machine co-adaptation.
- Empowering management support through adoption impact modelling, diagnostics and dashboard integration – This stage represents the final milestone in the full integration of the Digital Mindfulness Toolkit
- Refinement through multi-user testing for Sustainable Digital Embedding
- Deliver commercialisation and sector impact through promotion of the Toolkit, piloting with new clients and delivering staff training.
- Co-author and present academic papers to relevant journals/conferences.
- Collaborate with University supervisors to translate research into commercial outcomes.
- Contribute to KTP evaluation and final reports.
- Adhere to the University’s & Gateway Qualifications Limited’s Health and Safety Policy and guidelines.

Skills and Experience
Essential Criteria:
- Master’s in Information Systems, Data/Business Analytics, Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field
- Bachelor’s in Business Intelligence, Information Systems, or related discipline
- Proven expertise in designing cloud data architecture (preferably Azure), including data lake/warehouse setup, security, access, lineage, and refresh cycles
- Strong skills in process mapping (BPMN/Swimlanes), and SOP governance
- Proficient in ETL pipeline development (Power Query, SQL, Python)
- Advanced Power BI skills (including DAX)
- An understanding of AI/ML and NLP concepts and their application in business intelligence or digital transformation
- Knowledge of machine learning workflows including data preparation, model training and evaluation
- Excellent written and verbal communication; able to explain complex technical concepts to non-specialists, adapting communication to meet recipient needs
- Effective collaborator across technical, academic, and industry teams
- Strong analytical and creative problem-solving abilities
- Demonstrate a commitment to the University’s Vision, Mission and Values and to work within the University and Gateway Qualification’s policies and procedures
Desirable Criteria:
- PhD in Business Intelligence, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or related field
- Experience leading change initiatives using recognised frameworks (e.g., ADKAR, APMG)
- Experience with process mining using Microsoft 365/Power Automate telemetry
- Skilled in managing knowledge platforms (Microsoft SharePoint, Atlassian Confluence)
- Hands-on experience with AI/ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn) or cloud-based AI services (e.g. Azure AI, AWS SageMaker)
- Ability to design and implement predictive analytics models and simulation tools
- Knowledge of ethical AI principles and human-in-the-loop frameworks
- Ability to facilitate workshops/training
- Strong report-writing skills (technical notes, SOPs, playbooks)
