Job description
To develop an AI-driven Digital Twin platform that seamlessly integrates design, simulation, manufacturing, and construction feedback workflows, enabling Hodgson Sayers Ltd to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve real-time decision-making.
Duties & Responsibilities

- Project manage the delivery of the Knowledge Transfer Partnership work plan (with extensive support from both company and academic supervisors), which includes the following stages:
- a: Hodgson Sayers Limited Business Model Familiarisation
- b: Technology / Methodology Familiarisation for Full Digital Twin Integration
- c: Pilot Design and Implementation : Phase 1: Security Door design Re-Optimisation, Phase 2: Security Door Digital Twin Prototype Development
- d: System Scaling : Multi-Product Extension to other areas of HSL business model
- e: Digital Twin User Interface design and optimisation
- f: Final Validation, Training, Business Embedding, Commercialisation and Dissemination
- Co-author and present academic papers to relevant journals/conferences.
- Contribute to KTP evaluation and final reports.
- Adhere to the University’s & Hodgson Sayers Ltd’s Health and Safety Policy and guidelines.
- Adhere to the General Data Protection and The Data Protection Act 2018.
- Promote Equality and Diversity for staff and students and embrace the University’s Values and Behaviours Framework.
- Any other reasonable duties that may be allocated from time to time commensurate with the grading of the post.

Hodgson Sayers Limited (HSL) are a specialist roofing, building maintenance andsecurity products company, operating from their headquarters in Stanley, County Durham. The proposed KTP is to develop an AI-driven DigitalTwin platform that mirrors real-time construction activities, integrating design, planning, execution, and analysis into one digital ecosystem. The appointed KTP Associate will be heavily supported by an academic team from Teesside University.
