Job description
1. Under the supervision of the academic and industry-based technical support, the
Associate with a strong background in design and manufacturing will be responsible
for the daily planning and implementation of the project plans and objectives,
including successful management, delivery, reporting and dissemination of the
research.
2. The Associate will develop and report activities and outcomes which will make a
significant impact on the relevant field through increases in knowledge, discovery and
development of new insights, concepts and/or processes.
3. The Associate will be responsible for the review and analysis of research and
development findings, developing new insights that expand thought and practice in
the field of materials.
4. The Associate will develop relationships and partnerships externally to foster
collaboration and generate positive impact on the project, and where appropriate to
CU and Duck Tours Limited.
5. The Associate will contribute actively to knowledge transfer and exploitation through
workshops, seminars, patents, licence agreements.
6. The Associate will contribute to ensure the quality of the project activities, recording
and reporting of all results and outcomes to the supervisors, to support the University
and research centre objectives on academic outputs and impact.
7. The Associate will contribute actively to the daily operations of Duck Tours Limited
and take part in all company meetings and activities, as required.

Project description
The Institute of Advanced Manufacturing & Engineering (AME) at Coventry University,
is the UK’s ‘First Faculty on the Factory Floor’, where you have access to the latest
innovations in research and training in digital manufacturing and user-centred design.
Together with Duck Tours (Seahorse Amphibious Vehicles you will be applying this
innovation to develop the latest generation of amphibious vehicles at their
manufacturing location in Maidenhead, Windsor.
The objective of your roles is to develop a user-centred approach to capture the
experience of tour operators and their passengers of an electric amphibious vehicle in
the waterway tour business and to embed these requirements in a digital design which
is fully embedded within Duck Tours agile production environment.
