Job description
This post is a dynamic role that will lead a unique innovation project that will enhance the transcription process, improve efficiency and lead to the development of new AI transcription services providing greater affordability.
The position is remote; however, the associate should be in a position to travel to the University of Salford as required for meetings on a regular basis. The associate will also be required to travel to meetings near Rhyl in North Wales on a monthly basis. In addition, you will gain experience in engaging with colleagues and stakeholders from across the entire organisation and beyond. This experience will uniquely position the candidate to have wide-ranging knowledge and experience.
The successful candidate will develop a state-of-the-art AI transcription system, leading to a commercially viable product, and generating impact and relevance in the application of AI/ML within language technologies.
Project description
This post is a dynamic role that will lead a unique innovation project aiming to develop an AI transcription system optimised for accurately transcribing speech from multiple speakers developing a minimum viable product (MVP) for easy management of transcription projects. This will enhance their transcription process, improve efficiency and lead to the development of new AI transcription services providing greater affordability.

TP Transcription Ltd, established in 2001, offers outsourced transcription and translation services to universities, research companies, PLCs and private individuals. With over 70 contractors, handling ca.600h/month, TP Transcription specialises in transcribing specialist recordings. All of their contractors are professionally certified transcribers with experience in the NHS/research projects, who use their field expertise to transcribe specialist recordings and enjoy the flexibility of transcribing around their own commitments (this is a common transcriber hiring model within the industry supporting a 24/7/365 service delivery. TP Transcription are preferred suppliers to at least 50 UK universities and have worked with academics located in several overseas universities too.
