Job description
The successful KTP Associate will undertake the complex task of developing an innovative AI-based Natural Language Processing (NLP) solution, DIVERSE, which will automate multilingual meeting management. The solution includes real-time natural language translation, automatic speech recognition, emotion detection, and automated meeting minute generation. The Associate will work closely with both academic and industrial partners to create a robust system that supports Allsop’s existing digital infrastructure and extends its capability to handle multilingual meetings seamlessly. This project aims to revolutionize corporate meeting management and enhance inclusivity in multilingual environments. The Associate will be responsible for the technical development and integration of this solution.
Main Duties
* Develop a detailed understanding of the DIVERSE system requirements, focusing on Natural Language Processing and Automatic Speech Recognition features.
* Lead the technical development of real-time multilingual translation systems, utilizing cutting-edge NLP techniques.
* Collaborate with both academic and industrial stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of the project milestones.
* Apply machine learning and multimodal information processing to enhance meeting administration and communication.
* Manage project timelines, ensuring that deliverables are completed on time and within scope.
* Conduct rigorous testing and validation of the system in real-world settings with Allsop’s clients.
Applicants should hold an honours degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a closely related discipline at 2:1 or above. The Associate should have good skills and experience in three or more of the following areas:
* Knowledge and experience of using research methods, including understanding qualitative and quantitative research.
* Experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP) technologies.
* Experience with Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) technologies.
* Experience with AI and Machine Learning models.
* Experience with software development, particularly in AI applications.
Project description
The KTP will focus on developing the DIVERSE automation platform, an intuitive solution that will offer real-time, multilingual translation for virtual meetings. It will allow users to automatically generate meeting minutes and summaries, removing the need for manual note-taking. The project will leverage skills in Natural Language Processing (NLP), Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR), and AI-driven automation such as RAG.

The appointment will be for a period of two years, and although the post is administratively linked to the University, the Associate will be based at the Company’s premises in Belfast. Successful completion of the KTP may lead to a new position within the company partner at the end of the project period.
