Job description
This pioneering project aims to revolutionise the UK electric heating sector by incorporating phase change materials (PCMs) into next-generation intelligent radiator technology — a product that will be unique in its field worldwide.
The KTP scheme is one of the UK’s largest graduate employment programmes. One of the key KTP benefits is access to training budget, management training from specialists at Ashorne Hill and dedicated coaching and mentoring to develop your core people and project management skills, plus the opportunity to register for a CMI Diploma in Management.
As a PCM Heating Systems Engineer, you will be primarily based at Trust Electric Heating Ltd in Garforth, Leeds, with access to facilities at the University of Huddersfield, including the Smart House testing facility. Working collaboratively with both organisations, you will deliver a strategically significant project. Successful completion of the KTP may lead to long-term employment at Trust Electric Heating Ltd in a role such as R&D Manager.
A 2:1 or above first degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related discipline, is essential, and you will have practical experience in experimental methods, computational tools, materials, and data analysis. Self-motivated and innovative, you will work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Strong communication and project management skills are essential, along with a passion for sustainable energy and net zero innovation. See recruitment pack for further details.
