Job description

Qualifications we require:

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Power System Engineering, or a related discipline.

A PhD in Control Systems Engineering, Power System Engineering or a related field is desirable but not necessary.

Application requirements:

– Knowledge of the integration of inverter-based resources and the control schemes involved, i.e. battery management system, power electronics interface controls, energy management system, grid integration.

– Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

– The ability to work independently and collaboratively to resolve technical issues.

– Receptive to new knowledge, such as understanding the chemical dynamics of the proposed storage solution or proposing novel mechanisms specifically for HalioGen Power’s system.

– Experience of the design and development of control schemes of inverter resources for their efficient integration.

– Exposure to good scientific practice and knowledge of regulatory requirements / standards / safety protocols governing battery and energy systems.

Project description

An exciting opportunity has become available for a recent graduate to work full time on a 30-month Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) to develop bespoke / innovative electronic and control systems to maximise the performance and efficiency of the no membrane Redox Flow Battery, HalioGen Power is developing.

Employed and supported by an academic team from the University, you will be based at HalioGen Power’s premises in Manchester.
