Job description

Employed and supported by an academic team from the University, you will be based at Hearing Dogs for Deaf People’s premises in Princes Risborough, Buckinghamshire but required to travel to Hearing Dogs’ often remote sites and to the University campus.

Qualifications we require:

Hold, or be about to obtain, an honours degree (or equivalent experience) in Psychology, Human and Animal Psychology or a related discipline such as Counselling or Neuroscience.

A master’s or Doctorate-Level qualification in Psychology with a focus on Human and/or Animal Psychology is desirable.

Application requirements:

– Applied knowledge of applied psychology, relational behaviour models and human-dog/animal interactions.

– Knowledge of statistics and quantitative analysis.

– Awareness of operational processes and cultural change approaches.

– Capability in relevant technologies and software platforms (Generative AI, video capture and editing, production) and data management.

– Independent and collaborative problem-solving skills with excellent project management and communication skills.

– Comfortable working with dogs.

The post will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services (DBS) check.

Interviews are expected to take place on Wednesday 30th July at Hearings Dogs’ Princes Risborough office.

Project description

An exciting opportunity has become available for a recent graduate to work full time on a 30-month Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) to develop a Relational Training Model that will improve the outcomes for hearing dogs in training and working hearing dog partnerships.
