Job description
Main accountabilities:
• Plan own day-to-day activity to deliver the project objectives as detailed in the KTP project proposal.
• Transfer knowledge in pulsed eddy current technology, non-destructive testing (NDT), and sensor system development to the company.
• Maintain an up-to-date project plan and provide a progress report for presentation at regular Local Management Committee (LMC) meetings.
• Forecast and monitor project finances.
Key duties and responsibilities:
• The post holder, working with colleagues from ETher NDE Ltd and Brunel University London, will develop novel pulsed eddy current sensor technology, including both handheld and permanently mounted systems, for corrosion detection under insulation (CUI).
• The role will act as a liaison between the University and ETher NDE Ltd enabling and ensuring knowledge is passed between the two organisations and embedded in ETher NDE Ltd for future development.
• The output of this project is to deliver fully functional PEC sensor prototypes for commercialisation and to embed the learned knowledge into the R&D team at ETher NDE Ltd.
The post holder will also be required to gain strong practical expertise in sensor design, prototyping, and experimental validation, including the use of electromagnetic modelling and simulation tools, and to apply this expertise in both laboratory and industrial testing environments.
The role will also require:
• Presenting at conferences and interaction with peers.
• Liaising and interacting with customers to identify requirements.
• Production of relevant technical papers and presentations
Project description
To develop a novel process for detecting corrosion under insulation (CUI) using pulsed eddy current technology. This will be deployed using both a hand-held system and a permanently mounted system that monitors the corrosion continuously.
